Donna Ridley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lux Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Feb. 24, 2026.
Dona Louise Ridley, born January 12, 1950, in Hawthorne, Nevada, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior, surrounded by the love of her family, on February 15, 2026. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, Dona's life was rooted deeply in faith, family, loyalty, and love.

Dona was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Michelle Suzanne Hoberg; her mother, Patricia Maxine Droubay; and her father, Hyrum Harold Droubay. Though their absence was deeply felt, she carried their love with her throughout her life.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, David Edward Ridley, whom she married on August 16, 1975. Their marriage was a testimony of unwavering commitment, loyalty, and Christ centered love. Dona is also lovingly survived by her sisters, Deborah Johansen and MaryAnn Manduille.

Her greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind her son, David E. Ridley Jr. (58), and his wife, Daniela (56); her son, Mark Ridley (53); and her niece, Heidi Logan (51), whom she loved and embraced as her own adopted daughter. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Taylyn Ridley Miculka (29) and her husband, Zach (28); Brant Ridley (34) and his wife, Mary (30); and Shane Ridley (31) and his wife, Sarah (30). She was also blessed with six great grandchildren - Savanah (13), Greyson (12), Kye (11), Samuel (8), Camden (8), and Violet (5) - each of whom brought immense pride and joy to her life.

Dona dedicated many years of her professional life as a legal secretary and later as an Administrative Secretary at Randolph Field ISD, where her diligence, organization, and caring spirit touched many lives.

She found deep joy in the simple blessings God provided. Dona loved sitting on her porch watching the birds, especially hummingbirds, which fascinated her endlessly. Glass hummingbirds adorned her home as a reflection of that love. She never met an animal she didn't care for - nursing squirrels, birds, and even raccoons back to health. Her beloved goats, Frick and Frack, and her cherished dogs held a special place in her heart. She often joked that she loved her dogs more than people - though all who knew her understood how deeply she loved both.

Though small in stature, Dona was mighty in spirit. She often laughed about her height, but there was nothing small about her strength. She spoke her mind, stood firm in her convictions, and never backed down when it came to protecting those she loved. Her loyalty to her husband and family was absolute and unwavering. When something delighted her, she would break into a small, joyful dance - a simple but beautiful expression of the happiness that filled her heart.

Above all, Dona's life was anchored in her strong faith in God. She trusted Him through joy and sorrow, and her hope in Christ was the foundation upon which she built her family and her life. We take comfort knowing she now rests in His eternal peace.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." – Matthew 25:23

Dona's love, strength, laughter, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
