Donna Szweda Obituary

Donna Lee Szweda, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2023, in her hometown of Milwaukee, WI, where she first graced the world with her presence on June 14, 1952. Donna's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the warmth of a loving heart.
A devoted mother, Donna's legacy is lovingly carried on by her children, Lisa Williams, the late Daniel Szweda, and Rick Szweda. She was the proud and cherished grandmother of Jacob, Lorna, Heather, R.J., Elizabeth, David, Cecylia, and Leilani, and a doting great-grandmother to Sylvester and Nevaeh. Her unwavering love extended to her best friend and life partner, Tom Loman, who stood by her as a source of joy and companionship.
She was the dear sister of Carla and Shari, and had a special place in her heart for her late siblings Charlene and Mike. Donna's parents, Tom and Marilyn, preceded her in death, but the values they instilled in her remained a guiding force throughout her life. Donna's absence will also be profoundly felt by a host of other relatives and friends who were fortunate enough to experience her boundless generosity and care.
Donna's life was characterized by her innate ability to nurture and her tireless dedication to her family. Her home was always filled with laughter and love. The simplest moments were transformed into cherished memories when spent in Donna's company, as she had the rare gift of making everyone around her feel special and loved.
While her family was her world, Donna's interests and kindness reached beyond the confines of her home. Her selfless nature was evident in every aspect of her life, touching the lives of many. She had a way of elevating the mundane into the extraordinary, leaving a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Donna's life was a living example of the words 'loving,' 'kind,' and 'selfless.' These words were not merely descriptors but the very essence of her being. She approached every day with a heart full of love and a readiness to help others, leaving an indelible mark on the world.
In the quiet moments, when the loss feels most profound, we take comfort in knowing that Donna's spirit continues to echo in the laughter of her grandchildren, in the strength of her children, and in the countless lives she touched. Her memory will be a guiding star for all who loved her, a reminder to live each day with kindness and a generous heart, just as she did.
As we bid farewell to Donna Lee Szweda, we celebrate a life extraordinarily well-lived. We honor a woman whose very presence was a gift, and whose love knew no bounds. Her story does not end with her passing, for the love she shared will continue to ripple through generations, a timeless legacy of a life beautifully lived.
Donna's final chapter closes in the city where it all began, surrounded by the love of her family and the community she held so dear. She will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit will forever remain a part of the fabric of the lives she touched. Rest in peace, dear Donna, until we meet again.

She always showed me respect and treated me like an adult. She would be the first to make sure I had respect for my elders. I always made sure I would say hi to her and give her a hug. I am going to miss that embrace.Rest in Peace Auntie Donna...I love you. See you on the otherside.
