Donetta L. Bennett, a beloved figure known for her huge heart and unwavering spirit, passed away peacefully in Dayton, OH, on March 11, 2025, after courageously battling cancer. Born on December 17, 1967, in Dayton, she spent her life surrounded by family and friends who cherished her warmth and generosity.

Donetta was a woman who loved helping others, embodying honesty and directness in every interaction. Her stubborn yet compassionate nature made her a steadfast presence in the lives of those who knew her. She found immense joy in spending time with her family, particularly her mother, Reba Mescher, and her cherished grandchildren, Kinley and Kaiden Bennett, and Jason and Jaxton Weidner. An amazing cook, Donetta often expressed her love for her family through her culinary skills, creating meals that brought everyone together.

Her legacy is continued through her children, Justin (Sabrina) Bennett, Summer Redd, and Corey Redd, as well as her bonus son, Tyler Bennett. Donetta’s siblings, Doug Perdue, Franca Perdue, Melissa (Jason) Rabold, Frank (Theresa) Perdue, Eddie (Carolyn) Mescher, Rodney (Becky) Mescher, and Wanda (Lenny) Dickess, along with her aunt, Darlene "Aunt Dee" Gaddy, share her memory with numerous other family and friends.

Donetta was preceded in death by her father, Edgar Mescher, and her husband and lifelong friend, Lonnie Bennett. They will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

In honor of her remarkable life, a Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the American Legion Post located at 5046 Nebraska Avenue, Huber Heights, OH. This gathering will serve as a tribute to the love and kindness that Donetta embodied throughout her life and will be an opportunity for all who knew her to remember the joy she brought into their lives.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate monetary donations or food for Donetta's celebration of life.
