He was born June 15, 1952, in Morehead, Kentucky, to Bernard and Virginia (Cox) Lewis.
On March 16, 1974, in La Porte, he married Marilyn Lewis who survives. They were married 52 years.
Donnie enjoyed playing pool with his friends and had a love for old cars and going to car shows. He was a Chicago Cubs and Indianapolis Colts fan, and a collector of coins. He was very intelligent and had a passion for science, especially physics. Donnie was a homebody in later years, but would loved taking trips to Kentucky to see his family.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marilyn; his son, Don Lewis Jr., siblings, Aileen (Roy) Calton, Stella (Benny) Barricks.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Carol Lewis.
Cremation will take place. Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219) 362-3100 is caring for the arrangements.
