Celebration Of Life Service Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 2:00 PM Sunset Manor Nursing Home 251 Sunset Place Guin, AL Burial Guin City Cemetery Guin, AL With heavy hearts, we share that Donnie Tyra entered into the presence of the Lord on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the age of 78. He passed peacefully, surrounded by many who loved him. Born on March 11, 1947, Donnie became part of the Sunset Manor family on January 9, 1966, as the eighth resident to move in. For the next 59 years, Sunset Manor was his home-a place where he was deeply loved by staff, visitors, and friends. Over the decades, Donnie affectionately called countless caregivers "Mama," a testament to the bonds he formed with those who cared for him. Donnie was the heart of many visits from churches, entertainers, and school children, all of whom were drawn to his warm spirit. His hugs were pure, unconditional, and capable of melting even the weariest heart. We take comfort in knowing that Donnie now has his new body and is standing in the presence of Christ. His absence will be deeply felt, but his memory will forever be cherished. A Celebration Of Life Service will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM from the Sunset Manor Nursing Home with Burial in the Guin City Cemetery.
