Donnie was born in Rockingham County to the late Thomas and Eliza Jane Woods. He was a hardworking man who cut trees for 50+ years and eventually owned his own business. He loves God first and his family second. He always made sure his family was taken care of before himself. He was such a giving man and had the sweetest, purest heart. His smile would light up any room he entered. He loved hunting, fishing, and being with his dog Daisy. He loved eating at Sanitary Cafe and enjoying a sweet treat. Donnie was a twin but truly one of a kind.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lee Luther; brothers, Tom Jr., Joel, Moir, Henry, and Albert Woods.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Vilma Woods; Children, Donnie James (Dana), Kelly (Megan); grandchildren, Morgan, Mallory (AJ), Sydney (Joe), Averie, and Ashlyn; great-grandchildren, Kensleigh, Eli, Raylan, Makinzley, and Jonah; siblings, Leon (Janet), Lester (Darlene), and Dillard; nephew, Junior, as well as a large and loving group of extended family and friends.
