Even All these years after working with you, I will miss you Donte. One of the best soldiers I couldve asked for, you were a rock in the ghost platoon that supported the whole family. Rest In Peace brother, youll be forever remembered in our hearts and souls.

To my nephew, Donte' Lamar Hicks, so smart, so funny, so young ... You shall be greatly missed in this life by those who loved you most (...your wife & son, your mother & father, your sister & brothers, your grandparents, your uncles & aunts, etc) . . . words can not begin to express the sentiments of our collective hearts, but we do know that the memory of you shall live on in those collective hearts. I worked with SGT Hicks directly leading up to this dreaded day! Not only was he the lifeline to our platoon He was the Company jokester/ball player/all around sports guy. He loves Carmelo Anthony and to him he was the beat player on earth... he was always making people laugh keeping the mood cordial during unfortunate timeS . He was a stand up guy and I wouldnt change anything about him! Although I only worked with him a few months I felt like I knew him an eternity! The impact he had on soldiers, family and friends, I know he will truly be missed and is watching over from Heaven... see you when I get there Fungus(from Monsters inc.)my nickname to him) love you bro!!

SGT Hicks was an outstanding person, Soldier, and friend to be around. His glow rubbed off on everyone with whom he had contact with. He will be truly missed. Rest in Heaven young man and let your light shine down on the world!!
