Dora's journey through life was adorned with an exquisite tapestry of memories and a vivacious personality that left a lasting imprint on all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with her.
Growing up amidst the rustic beauty of the Turcotte ranch in Sarita, Dora's infectious warmth and magnetic personality drew people to her effortlessly. Her heart was deeply rooted in family values, always keeping close ties with her loved ones near and far. A social butterfly, she cultivated friendships that spanned continents, embracing each connection with genuine care.
Music flowed through her veins, but it was on the dance floor where Dora truly found her rhythm. With a twinkle in her eye and laughter in her step, she danced through life's joys and sorrows with grace and resilience. Her love for music was only surpassed by her love for dancing - a passion that brought joy to all who had the pleasure of witnessing her moves.
Dora found solace in the simple pleasures of life, whether engrossed in word search puzzles, savoring culinary delights at local eateries, or indulging in her favorite pastime of shoe shopping, she approached each moment with an insatiable zest for living. Traveling to visit relatives scattered across the map brought her immense joy, weaving cherished memories with every journey undertaken. She was also a huge Dallas Cowboy football fan.
In the tapestry of Dora's life, holiday meals held a special place as she gathered around tables laden with love and laughter. Her presence illuminated every room she entered, radiating a warmth that enveloped all in its embrace.
Dora B. Hill will forever be remembered for her quick wit, kind heart, and unwavering spirit. Though she may have bid farewell to this earthly realm, her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa Brambila; parents, Valentin Bueno and Concepcion Gutierrez Bueno; brothers, Gustavo Bueno, Israel Bueno, Ismael Bueno, Demencio Bueno, Sr., and Ruben Bueno Sr.; and sister, Olga Bueno Weigel.
Among those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 37 years, Stevan F. Hill Sr.; daughter, Elizabeth Turner (Scott Turner) of Florence, SC; stepson, Stevan F. Hill, Jr.; stepdaughter, Maryann Trejo; siblings, Valdemar Bueno (Esther Bueno) of Alice, Texas, Maria Juanita Mata (Juan Mata Jr) of Pomona, California, and Maria Blanca Hobbs (Bill Hobbs) of Florence, SC; grandchildren, Robert S. Reed (Taylor Reed) of Oakland City, Indiana, Brogan Smith-Reed (Lauren Smith-Reed) of Evansville, Indiana, Elijah S Turner, Alexander P Turner, Jagger Trejo, and Jeremi Turner; great-grandson, Kendrick Willis; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family will receive condolences from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, Jul 11, 2024, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A mass of christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024, at St. Gertrude Catholic Church. A rite of committal and interment will follow at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
