Janice Dora Sell
November 24, 1953 – February 19, 2026
Janice Dora Sell, 72, of Polson, Montana, made her final journey on February 19, 2026, in Missoula, Montana.
Janice was born on November 24, 1953 in Sidney MT to Ed Stevens and Mildred Kassner.
From the very beginning she was a fighter, entering the world as a tiny three-pound twin and proving from her first breath that she was strong, determined, and ready to make her mark on the world.
Janice lived a life filled with resilience, kindness, and love. Although her life was not always easy, she faced every challenge with strength, joy in her heart, and a smile on her face. No matter what the world placed before her, she persevered with grace and courage.
Family meant everything to Janice. Growing up away from parts of her family in her early years only strengthened her desire to stay connected. She made it a priority to reach out, rebuild relationships, and learn about her family roots, especially on her mother’s side. She loved her family fiercely and always put them first.
Janice was known as the family babysitter and lovingly cared for countless children over the years. To her, every child—no matter the relation—was family. She had a gentle soul and a generous heart, always ready to help and always ready to love.
She had many passions that brought joy to her life and to those around her. Janice loved the mountains, swimming in the lake during the summer, and celebrating the season at the Cherry Festival. She enjoyed football, adored Elvis Presley, and became well known for her Christmas ceramics and her love of all things Christmas.
Janice treasured her friends deeply and considered them family. Anyone who knew her quickly discovered that to know Janice was to love her. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will leave a lasting mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Janice will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched, and stuff like that.
A celebration of life will be held this summer, date and time to be announced.
