Doreen R. Collins

Doreen was one of the most beautiful persons I have ever known. I have reminders of her everywhere in my home. ( I am shedding tears now as I write this. )

The name, Bev Harding, Buffalo, New York, should have appeared after the first entry.

I wrote the first entry, dated April 18, 2017, and just noted that I did not sign my name.

To know Doreen was to love her. My heart is broken. Here and there throughout my home, I have "Doreen reminders"....a plaque, a stuffed toy...some little thing she sent so that I would not forget her. I never will.

I had the wonderful opportunity to work indirectly with Doreen. She was always smiling and had positive words to help pick up your spirits. A beautiful woman inside and out with the biggest of hearts. May the angels welcome you with open wings. God bless.

Thank you for always loving me like your own. Thank you for having my back, giving my pep talks when we needed them most. Thanks for the years of letting me crash at your place till I could figure out life as an a adult. Thank you for being one of my biggest cheerleaders! Thank you for your cute little laugh. The casino trips, your friendship and most of all your unconditional love! I love you! I have missed you so very much, and will miss you so much more now. However, there is a great comfort now that I know you are smiling again because you have found your way back to Courtney. RIP Doreen, Mom

Condolences to Doreen's family and friends. I worked at DSS for many years and found Doreen to be a special person, ready to smile and help you out. It was a pleasure to work with her. I hope you all hold happy memories in your heart.

You were my best friend and saying goodbye is one of the hardest things I have to do. You helped me navigate through obstacles in my life and made my journey easier and although my path is lonlier now I have to remember you still share my road...you've just traveled on ahead. I still have the memories and you will always remain in my heart.

Condolences to Doreen's family. I worked at Jefferson Co.DSS for 27 years. She was a wonderful person and although I only knew her thru work, she always had a smile for everyone.

So sorry to hear about Doreen's passing. She was a great boss and a good friend. I am sure she will be missed by many people in Watertown. I think of her often with good memories...

I am so sorry to read about Doreen. I too retired from the county but not DSS.. I used to see her one in awhile. We laughed and talked about being firemen's kids and talked about going to church. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
