Dorene Best Obituary

Dorene Mangan Best, 80, of Louisa County, passed away on January 12, 2026. She was reunited with her husband, Anthony E. Best Sr.; her parents, Paul Mangan and Hazel Loeb Mangan; her sisters, Carol Best, Grace Bischoff, and Barbara McKeown; and her nephew, Michael Best. She is survived by her children Denise, Laura, Kenny, Bonnie, Deborah, Carol, Donna, Sharon, Anthony Jr., and Paul; many grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; and her devoted caretakers, Chelsea and Autumn. Dorene enjoyed traveling in her RV, reading with her book club, biking with her family, and spending time with her beloved dogs, Cookie and Bella.

Family night will be held January 18, 2026, from 5–7 p.m. at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville, VA.

A graveside service will follow on January 19, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Monticello Memory Gardens in Charlottesville, VA.

Donations may be made to the Louisa County Rescue Squad, Inc.
