I express my sincere condolences to all family and friends. The seven siblings are now completely reunited in heaven. My maternal grandmother, the late Anne (Anna) Booth Silberman, spoke often of "Dorie" during my childhood. Always a smile when she spoke of, or spoke to, Aunt Dorie. It's my understanding that Grandma was in high school when Aunt Dorie was born, and left school for a year to help care for her new baby sister... Bubbe Ethel was hard at work in the grocery store. More than a half-century later, when Grandma was diagnosed with terminal cancer, Aunt Dorie flew down to provide care to her oldest living sister. Full circle love. Aunt Dorie's stated ambition, printed next to her graduation photograph in the East High yearbook was, "To have all those dear to me, near to me." That is a heart of gold. In memory and in honor of Aunt Dorie, may we all focus upon doing exactly that... Keeping those who are dear to us, near to us.
