Obituary of Dorie E. Becker
Mrs. Dorie E. Becker, 64, of New York Mills, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica, with her loving family by her side.
Dorie was born in Utica, on October 18, 1958, the daughter of Richard and Margaret (Kane) Cass and received her education in Utica schools. At one time, Dorie was married to David Becker. For 23 years, Dorie was employed with Utica Cutlery Company. She enjoyed playing the Lottery, watching college football and the NFL and loved visiting the ocean in Wildwood, New Jersey with her beloved family, and this will ultimately be where she will be laid to rest. Dorie had a special love for animals, especially her dogs, Sampson and Winston as well as bird watching and feeding God's feathered creatures. Dorie was a devout Catholic who often attended St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church in Utica. Her greatest joy was the times she spent with her children and especially her grandchildren who were the light of her life.
Mrs. Becker is survived by her loving son, David Becker and his fiancé, Kristen Kelsey of NY Mills; three cherished grandchildren, David Logan Becker, Derek Edward Becker and Dawson Steven Becker; her dear friend and father of her son, David Becker; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Regina Iannone of Utica whom Dorie shared a special childhood with, Bonnie and Frank Turner of Utica and Susan Bonny of Utica, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant son, Michael Cass, sister, Carol Turner, brother, Dickie Cass who always protected and looked out for Dorie and mother-in-law, Maryanne Becker who Dorie shared a special relationship with.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a memorial service to celebrate Dorie's life on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica.
