We are so sorry to hear of Doris' death. We lived in the neighborhood, probably as long as the Akey family. Doris was a faithful crossing guard for Schofield School, walking to the school twice a day for how many years? Many! She could always be seen walking down Grand Avenue to her job. And she always greeted me from her front yard, while I was walking in the neighborhood. Your family never failed to greet us, be friendly and helped care for our little ones when we moved to Schofield. Huey earning a letter for ball chasing for the baseball team when John was coach. And I remember when Robert died, leaving you to care for the family. I believe he was helping a neighbor shovel.
We keep your family in our thoughts and prayers.
