Doris M. Arseneau, age 90, of Merrill, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Woodland Court Elder Services, LLC, in Merrill, with her family by her side and under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services. She was born on September 4, 1935, to the late William and Marie (Schwab) Savaske in Merrill. Doris attended Merrill High School. She met and fell in love with Paul T. Arseneau, and the two exchanged marriage vows on January 5, 1957, in Merrill, a union lasting 61 years. Sadly, he preceded her in death on September 18, 2018.
Doris and Paul had spent the last part of their lives being together at Woodland Court, something they were very grateful for. Before her retirement, she had worked for over 35 years at Weinbrenner in Merrill. She enjoyed going to the shack in the town of Rock Falls with family, making maple syrup, as well as weekends at the cottage up north in Tomahawk. During her younger years, she looked forward to snowmobiling trips, fishing throughout the United States and Canada, and going on trips around the country with family, including Las Vegas, Nashville and out West. Doris also would like to go to the casino every now and then. She was an avid gardener and loved her flowers. Doris enjoyed watching the hummingbirds come and enjoy her flowers as well! She is lovingly remembered as a kindhearted woman, with patience and was the peacekeeper, as well as the best mom you could ask for. She will be sadly missed, but enjoying her flowers with Jesus in Heaven.
Doris is survived by her sons: David (Jerrilyn “Jeri”) Arseneau and Mark (Jackalyn) Arseneau, grandchildren: Jeff (Jackie) Arseneau, Travis (Breyana) Arseneau and Tara (Dustin) Liebers, great grandchildren: Carson, Connor, Ava, Asa, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Bill and Marie Savaske, husband: Paul and siblings: Delores King, Diane Bushar, Kenneth Savaske and Edward Savaske.
