Doris May Bair May 22, 1932 - December 23, 2024 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doris May Bair, 92, of Greentown, Ohio. Doris was born in Reynoldsburg, Pennsylvania, on May 22, 1932, and passed away peacefully on December 23, 2024. Doris was a force of nature-larger than life itself. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was known for her resilience, generosity, fierce loyalty, and selfless love. Her journey was not without hardship, having endured many obstacles and great tragedies in her childhood. Yet, Doris always kept her chin up, approaching each day with a heart full of love for her family and friends. Doris worked as a surgical scrub technician, a landlord, and, most importantly, as a full-time mother to her four beloved children. Later in life, she found joy in caring for others, babysitting for a family in North Canton, and loving on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her home was a place of laughter, warmth, and unforgettable memories. We will always remember her preparing meals, hosting parties, and cheering enthusiastically for the Cavs-especially when LeBron made a shot that brought her to her feet with excitement. You couldn't help but join in with her excited clapping at her favorite part or the end of a movie. Though she may have spoken without thinking at times, her love always outshone any adversity. Doris had a love for The Bee Gees, American Idol (especially Simon Cowell), Queen Elizabeth, peanut butter parfaits from Dairy Queen, the movie; A Dogs Way Home, and her "baby Nila (dog)," whom she now holds in heaven. Also her "baby Lila (dog)," whom we continue to love and care for. Doris was a woman of strength, humor, and incredible resilience. She was feisty, bold, and confident in a way that only Doris could be. She was fiercely protective of her loved ones and would defend them at any cost. There is no one quite like her, and she will be deeply missed. Our grandmother's spirit never turned a day over 21. She always wanted to be remembered for "as she was". I will always remember you grandma for who you are; Strong, Beautiful, Confident, Audacious, a Heroine in her own regard. We will forever cherish the memories of the home with the big rock next to the driveway, across from the fire station-a symbol of the love, laughter, and life that filled the space. We are forever grateful for Gram, her love, and the lessons she taught us. She leaves behind a legacy that will live on in our hearts and souls for the rest of our lives and for all time. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, John William Laverick and Edna; her beloved aunt Adeline Laverick; her son, Michael John Bair; and her sisters, Carol Black, Joyce Laverick, and Kathleen Laverick. She is survived by her children: Sherri (Jim) Ellis, Diane McCutcheon, and Jeffrey Bair Cherished grandchildren: Lindsay Wells,Valerie Newman, Jacob Ellis, Ashlei (Michael) Williams, Bradley (Natalie) McCutcheon, Autumn McCutcheon (Tyler), Nichole (Jordan) Shirkman, Danielle (Blake) Phillips, Chloe J. In her final days, Doris expressed a longing to be "home" with those she loved, and we are comforted knowing she is no longer in pain and is now reunited with Mike. She has finally collected all the jewels in her crown, and though we will miss her beyond measure, we find peace knowing she is at rest in heaven, waiting for the day we will be reunited. Please join us in honoring this incredible woman who touched the lives of so many. Private services held by request. You are the best trip. Rest in peace, Grammy D. We love you.
