Doris Eljean Barr, 90, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2025, at an assisted living facility in Abilene. Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 29, 2025, in the Eula Cemetery, under the direction of Bailey-Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.

Doris was born on August 22, 1935, in Scranton, Texas, to Cecil West and Hadassa (Boland) Black. She graduated from Eula High School where she was a lifelong resident. She married Lloyd W. Barr, Jr. on March 7, 1952, in Eula. Doris was a dedicated homemaker and a faithful member of the Eula Methodist Church.

Doris is survived by three sons, Wesley Barr and wife Brenda of Hamby, Glendall Barr and wife Linda of Eula, and Wayne Barr and wife Sherie of San Angelo; one daughter, Jeanna Gordon and husband Jerry of Clyde; one brother, David Black of Abilene; and one sister, Dianne Linn of Huntsville.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Stephanie Mangrum, Kimberly Rodriquez and husband Chris, Aaron Barr and wife Rachael, Brandon Barr and wife Amber, Jeremy Gordon and wife Callie, Kevin Barr and wife Marley, and Jayton Thompson and husband Tanner.

She leaves behind 17 great-grandchildren: Lane Mangrum, Shaylee Palmour and husband Donavan, Addison Rodriquez, Emersyn Rodriquez, Kinley Rodriquez, Reagan Barr, Adam Barr, Luke Barr, Kyler Barr, Max Barr, Jett Gordon, Carter Gordon, Brooks Thompson, Reece Thompson, Lydia Burns, Camden Burns, and Collin Barr; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lloyd W. Barr, Jr., her granddaughter, LaShay Rue Grover, her grandson, Justin Ryan Barr, and her sister, Dolores Luedtke.

Pallbearers are Aaron Barr, Brandon Barr, Jeremy Gordon, Kevin Barr, Lane Mangrum, Chris Rodriquez and Tanner Thompson.

Instead of flowers, donations may be made to Eula Methodist Church or Hospice of the Big Country.
