Doris H. Bessler

Doris Marie (Hunt) Bessler of Lansdale, PA and formerly of Penllyn and Warminster, PA passed away on Saturday June 17, 2017. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Helen (Boyle) Hunt. She was the beloved wife of the late Edwin L. Bessler and the loving mother of Stephen Bessler (Linda), Donna McKee (Timothy) and Denise Gallagher (James). Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brother, Donald Hunt. Doris graduated from Little Flower High School in Philadelphia, the class of 1946. She enjoyed a 23 year career in federal government, working for the U.S. Navy at the Naval Air Warfare Center, Warminster. She began as a clerk typist and was promoted to division secretary, receiving many commendations along the way. She was an active member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Ambler, where she was a Eucharistic Minister and volunteer in many parish organizations and activities. Funeral Mass 11 AM Wednesday June 28, 2017 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 259 Forest Ave Ambler, PA 19002. Relatives and friends are invited to the Church Wednesday after 10 AM. Interment will be Wednesday at 1 PM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Anthony of Padua Church or Little Flower High School would be appreciated.
