Doris H. Bigler

Doris (Hollenbach) Bigler, 97, entered into rest on Tuesday December 20, 2022 at Spiritrust Lutheran Skilled Care Center York. She was the wife of the late Ross B. Bigler.
She was born June 14, 1925 in Perkasie, PA. The daughter of the late Charles R. and Mabel (Hedrick) Hollenbach.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, she was the choir director at Asbury for 35 years, played violin for the York Symphony for over 40 years, founded Yorktowne String Quartet, taught strings in York, taught private violin lessons, member of Welcome Wagon and past President now known as Women's Friendship Club, Women's Club of York. Enjoyed bridge and world travel. Before coming to York she was a choir director in NJ and played violin for the Plainfield Symphony and taught vocal music in NJ.
A visitation will be 9-9:30am Thursday December 29, 2022 at Asbury United Methodist Church 340 E. Market St. York followed by a service at 9:30 am with the Rev. Mark Terwilliger officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery. The John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 902 Mt. Rose Ave. York is assisting with arrangements.
Doris is survived by a nephew Gerald Hoffman and a niece Kathleen Coulter, numerous great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
