Doris Jean (Neese) Blaylock passed from this life on Thursday, June 5, 2025. She was born on January 28, 1927 to Owen Earl Neese and Myrtle Marie (Gammill) Neese in Springfield, Missouri. Doris was united in marriage to Paul Marion Blaylock on March 14, 1953 in Washington D. C.
After graduating from Marion C. Early High School in Morrisville, Missouri, Doris worked at the 5 & 10 on Commercial Street. She traveled to Washington D. C. as a nanny. She then worked at the Pentagon doing disability benefits. She met her husband, Paul (Mike) who was serving in the U. S. Navy stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. After their marriage they returned to Missouri where Paul served as a Naval recruiter. Doris was employed by CoxHealth laboratory for 30 years.
Doris was an excellent cook and a skilled seamstress. She enjoyed decorating her home with beautiful hand made crafts.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband Paul Marion (Mike) Blaylock; a daughter, Dianne Elaine Gardner; a son Paul David Blaylock; and two brothers; Warren Earl and Richard Lee Neese.
She is survived by a daughter Marsha Lynne Blaylock; a daughter-in-law Joyce Reedy Blaylock; Joyce's daughter and son-in-law Jorena and Matthew Siegmann, granddaughter Nellie Rose Siegmann, and many nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and friends.
Friends and family are invited to a graveside service Friday, June 13, at 2:00 PM at Springfield National Cemetery, 1702 East Seminole Street, Springfield, Missouri.
