Doris Blume

Doris Marie Blume, 78, of La Crosse passed away Monday, November 17, 2025 at Mayo Health System, Rochester, Minnesota. She was born in Medford, Wisconsin on November 29, 1946 to Arnold and Ida (Klimeck) Lavin. On November 29, 1975 Doris married Arden Blume and they celebrated over 49 years of marriage. Doris and Arden lived in Medford, Wisconsin. In 1983 they moved to Colorado and in 1985 they moved to Oregon. They moved back to Wisconsin in 2015.

Doris loved cooking, especially for family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards, Mahjong and Canasta. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Doris is survived by her loving husband, Arden; two daughters, Brenda Norris of Prineville, Oregon and Bonnie (Nate) Blume-Swedholm of St. Louis, Missouri; two granddaughters, Lattigo and Riata Norris; step-grandson, Barret Swedholm; six sisters, Patricia (Roger) Hargot, Marla Bauer, Carol Sandley, Ellyn Lavin, Nancie (Rod) Adams and Jayne (Rodney) Kurschner; five brothers, Gary (Joann) Lavin, Gene (Patricia) Lavin, Dale (Crystal) Lavin, Loren Lavin and Norman (Marlene) Lavin; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Janet Schuster.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Holway, W7809 Apple Ave, Medford, Wisconsin. Pastor Barb Krug will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery at a later date. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
