Doris Braxton Obituary
Doris Virginia Braxton, 72, of Louisa departed life peacefully on Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
She was born on November 10, 1937, a daughter of the late Corine Jackson and Harold Jackson.
Doris joined Springfield Baptist Church at an early age.
She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Willie Jackson and Harold "Joe" Jackson.
Doris leaves to cherish her memories, Thomas E. Braxton Sr., whom she was married to for over 30 years; three daughters, Teresa "Tracy" Goodwin of Waynesboro, Shirley Braxton of Charlottesville, Debbie Pendelton of Louisa; her granddaughter whom she raised, Shiree Braxton of Culpeper; two sons, Thomas Braxton Jr. of Charlottesville, Curtis Jackson Jr. of Washington, D.C.; four sisters, Ellen Jackson of Washington, D.C., Eula Harold of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, and Verdell Lewis of Charlottesville; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; devoted friends, Margaret Carter and Alexander Fountain; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010, at Springfield Baptist Church in Zion Crossroads with interment to follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Preddy Funeral Home of Gordonsville is charge of arrangements.

Hi little Shirley, Teresa and Tommy me too is very sorry of you all loss, as you know I loss my mother and I can tell you from experience you all have loss your best friend.
