Doris Moore Brown

Doris M. Brown, 96, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023 at her home.   Ms. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, Anna Frith Moore and Arthur Moore, Jr,  her daughter Diane Dickerson, and brothers Rex Moore and Carol Moore. She is survived by brothers James (Pepper) and Bobby Moore, sister Cherie Pruitt, granddaughter/caregiver  Melissa Troutman and granddaughter Courtney Dickerson,  grandsons Donald Lee Dickerson and Joshua, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.   Ms. Brown was born in Clarksville and had stories of working the switchboard at the phone company during WWII as a teenager and helping soldiers connect with their families when they were being deployed. She later worked as a nurse and retired from Baptist Hospital in Nashville. She was an amateur artist and could make any place feel like home.   Ms. Brown will be cremated and a Celebration of Life and spreading of ashes at Greenwood Cemetery will take place at a later date.
