Doris Opal Coffey Bumgarner Doris Opal Coffey Bumgarner, 77 of Granite Falls passed away Sunday July 7, 2013 at Lutheran Home Hickory West. Born December 23, 1935 in Caldwell County, she was the daughter of the late Bealer Coffey and Lema Greene Coffey. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Allen Bumgarner; two sisters; and two brothers. Mrs. Bumgarner was a member of Poovey's Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Ramona Reid of Phoenix, AZ and Paula Reid of Granite Falls; three sons, Greg Bumgarner of Taylorsville, Phillip Bumgarner of Granite Falls, and Willie Bumgarner of Granite Falls; one sister, Dare Austin of Granite Falls; one brother Larry Coffey of Hickory; six grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and one sister-in-law. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Poovey's Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Ron Winkler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service at Poovey's Grove Baptist Church. Bass-Smith Granite is serving the family of Doris Opal Coffey Bumgarner.
