Doris E. Chapman, 93, of Kokomo, formerly of Logansport, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo.


Born on November 28, 1930, in Keithsburg, Illinois, Doris is the daughter of the late Frank C. and Elzene (Peterson) Waters.  On July 9, 1948, in Logansport, Doris married Selmar E. Chapman who preceded in death on March 10, 2008.


Doris was a homemaker. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and had been attending Victory Baptist Church in Kokomo.  Doris enjoyed sharing and teaching the Bible, doing puzzles, and playing games.  She was a stabilizing influence on her family which she loved spending time with.


Surviving Doris are two sons, Brian (Kim) Chapman of Carmel, IN, Ben (LaCinda) Chapman of Kokomo, IN; five granddaughters, Erin (Evan) Maher of Carmel, IN, Lauren (Andrew) Knapp of Westfield, IN, Sabra Wilson of Albuquerque, NM, Christie Garber of Kokomo, IN, Courtnie (Alex) Steele of Kokomo, IN; two grandsons, Dustin Chapman of Delphi, IN, Chuck (Wendy) Harmon of Kokomo, IN; 12 great grandchildren; and a great great grandson.


A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Ennis officiating. Burial will follow at Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.


Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of service on Friday.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Victory Baptist Church, 610 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, IN 46902.
