Mrs. Doris M. Clark
Mrs. Doris M. Clark, 87, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025, in Providence Place, Lancaster.
She was born on April 27, 1938, in Tamaqua, the daughter of the late Carl and Eleanor (Miller) Eberts.
Graduating from Tamaqua High School in 1954, she then worked as a bookkeeper for a Tamaqua accounting firm.
Doris married Glenn D. Clark Sr. on Sept. 21, 1957. She moved to Lancaster County to start her life with Glenn. They celebrated 65 years of marriage before Glenn's passing on Nov. 9, 2022.
Doris continued her work with numbers as a part-time bookkeeper for C.B. Hoober, Intercourse, Pa., for about 15 years. She also worked part-time as a bookkeeper and reservationist for Harvest Drive, Gordonville, Pa., until she retired in 2019.
Doris was dedicated to her community, serving as treasurer for 50 years with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Intercourse Fire Company. She was also an active member of the Mary Ferree Women's Group.
Doris also spent much time in support of her husband's philanthropic and social activities in the Free Masons. Doris and Glenn volunteered at the Rajah Shrine Circus in Reading.
Doris and Glenn resided in Ronks, Pa., for the entirety of their marriage, and had a second home in Tamaqua that they fondly referred to as "the farm." The property was originally owned by Doris' maternal grandparents.
Doris enjoyed spending time at the beach, camping and traveling with her husband, along with reading and sewing cross stitch.
Faith was central in her life. She was a member of St. Peter's Church in Tamaqua and the Intercourse United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Roxanne L. Rendall, and her husband, Hugh Rendall III, of Lewes, Del.; and her son, Glenn D. Clark Jr., and his wife, Louisa (King), of Lancaster. She will be missed by her five grandchildren, Glenn D. Clark III, married to Courtney (Lesnik), Kathryn (Clark), married to Adam Poole, Libby (Rendall), married to Chris Ragni, Elliott Clark and Joseph Clark, married to Paige (Epler). She was blessed with three great-grandchildren, Louisa Poole, Leviathan Clark and Lillian Poole.
Services: A viewing will take place from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at the Shivery Funeral Home, 3214 Lincoln Highway East, Paradise, Pa. A private graveside service will take place at St. Peter's Cemetery, West Penn, Tamaqua. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to the Intercourse Fire Co., Intercourse, Pa.
