Doris K Delp

DORIS K. DELP, 96, of Clearwater, Florida, entered heaven on August 20, 2022. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, and came to Florida in 1969. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, J. Henry Delp, and her parents, Andrew L. Kriebel and Ruth Kriebel. Survivors include a son, Thomas H. Delp (Lisa), of Largo, Florida, and daughter, Joanne Minier, of Clearwater, Florida; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
As a senior in high school Doris worked three nights a week and Saturdays at a defense plant that made ball bearings used in World War II airplanes. After graduation, she worked as a tile decorator, painting designs on ceramic tile. Her favorite job, however, was being a homemaker, wife and mother.
A lifelong Christian, she was active in her church singing in the choir, participating in Presbyterian Women s Organization and serving as a Youth Group leader. She sang hymns for a half hour every night after her bedtime prayers.
A very creative person, she enjoyed sewing, flower arranging and gardening. An avid collector, she scoured flea markets and antique malls to add to her many collections. In her later years she enjoyed selling those collections on eBay and Facebook Marketplace and meeting new friends through her sales.
The family would like to express their sincere and heartfelt appreciation to the staff, (and especially) to the wonderful nurses and aides of Accent Care Hospice, who cared for her and eased her pain in her final days.
She is now safe in the arms of Jesus and reunited with the husband that she has missed sorely for 39 years.
