August 17, 1938 - March 6, 2024
Doris "Dottie" Casper Wise, 85, passed away on March 6, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on August 17, 1938, in Winston-Salem to Mary Pettigrew Casper and Norman Woodrow Casper, Sr. A lifelong Winston-Salem resident, Dottie retired from Wachovia / Wells Fargo Bank following a long and rewarding career. She enjoyed visiting friends and neighbors, and going on frequent, local outings with her son, Jeff. Dottie will be remembered for her sweet spirit and caring nature. In addition to her parents, Dottie was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Wise; and a brother, Norman "Tink" Casper, Jr. Surviving are her son, Jeff Wooten; stepdaughter, Sherry Wilson (Steve); step granddaughter, Leeann Kiger; and step great granddaughter, Ariana Kiger.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. John E. Hackworth, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cancer Services, 3175 Maplewood Ave, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.

Jeff, I found the date of that telephone call on my phone. It was December 18. Time slipped away. I´m sorry I didn´t get to see her again here on Earth. Her memorial service was a beautiful commemoration of her beautiful life.

Dear Jeff,
I am so very sorry for the loss of your dear, sweet mother. She was such a loving, kind person and will be so missed. My heart is breaking for you-she loved you so much! The friendship that she shared with my mother was truly a loving and supportive one. I know that they are in Heaven watching over us! Let Jesus wrap you in his arms and comfort you. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!

Doris and I talked a month or so ago and agreed we´d have lunch. I´m sorry I didn´t call her to arrange it. She was such sweet company. We graduated in the 1956 class of Gray High School. Through our reunions we became closer friends. I remember her as sweet and pretty in high school. As we aged she stayed pretty and even got sweeter.
I´m sorry she´s gone, family. But from her testimony I believe she´s in Heaven.
