Doris Edwards (nee Blowitski) passed unexpectantly on October 27, 2025. She is survived by her son Chad Edwards (Alexis Reil), her sister Janet Fox (Jeffrey), her brothers Stephen, Raymond (Linda) and Michael (Donna) Blowitski, and twenty nieces and nephews. Doris was born and raised in the Somerton section of Philadelphia, attending Maternity BVM, Archbishop Ryan and Manor College. She spent the majority of her career as an administrative assistant in the fields of finance and banking. She left her career to care for her parents Walter and Stella Blowitski until their deaths at 101 and 93 respectively. Doris had a passion for life. She was the kindest woman you'd ever meet. She loved people, animals, and most of all her cat Dusty. She loved music, bumping anything from Lynard Skynard to Avril Lavigne. She would cook different dishes, trying to feed anyone around her. She was empathetic, always seeking out those who really needed a friend. She loved her friends and would brag endlessly about their accomplishments. She always saw the best in people and wanted to do what she could to make everyone around her feel happy and like they had someone who cared about them.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Monday, November 3rd, from 10 to 11am at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 9304 Old Bustleton Avenue, Phila PA 19115. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30am at the Maternity BVM Church. Interment St. Mary's Ukrainian Cemetery, Elkins Park.
