Doris was one of the most open minded, straight forward, humorous relatives I know. I could always sit down and talk to her about things I would not talk to others about. She was not judgamental. I will truly miss her. I was closer to her than any other blood relative I know. God bless Doris. Check and see if you can find Arvid Victor up in heaven. Small joke Doris and Marian.

My Dear Aunt Doris... My "Other Mother" She always had the best advice, and the kind of wisdom that was matter of fact, straight to the heart of what was most important. She will be dearly missed by all of us and will surely live on in our hearts, until we meet again. Love to your Family Aunt Doris, Always~ LeAnn

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the families and friends of Doris. She will truly be missed by all. Doris was the best next door friend and neighbor a person could have for all most 20 years. We have shared many stories over the years. I will miss you. I will not forget you.

Doris was always so much fun to talk to, and I especially loved the quilts that she made for everyone. I am so impressed at her carrying on through everything these past few years, with her grace and good humor. She will be missed.

My Grandmother Lilly Anderson is "Auntie Dodo's" sister. I will never forget her great sense of humor and her straight to the point answers that were not sugar coated on bit. I loved her honesty and how she was caring and accepting to whomever it was and whatever their circumstance was. She will never be forgotten and will be greatly missed. I am very blessed to be able to have such a wonderful woman to remember as a part of my family.

Erick and I express our sympathy to the family of Doris. I enjoyed my visits with her over the past twenty-five years. She will be deeply missed by her two sisters, Lillian and JoyAnn, and her entire family.

Doris was a wonderful Great Aunt. Whenever we went to her house, she always had some sort of treat for us and liked it when we played cribbage with her.One thing I will always remember about her is that no matter how she was feeling she always seemed to crack a joke. We will all miss you Doris. Rest in peace.

Marian,
I was so sorry to read of your mom's death (and I did not know that your brother had died too). I have so many fond memories of playing at your house on Bloomington way back in the 1950's. You, Leslie and I were quite a trio. Then there were our days at Augsburg !!!
I remember your mom and her sense of humor and being the kind of mom that we all needed as we were growing up. May you feel God's arms around you in the coming days as you share those cherished memories of your wonderful family.

I grew up just doors down from the Enlunds. What a wonderful family! I admire that after Jim passed away she was there working like crazy and having some coffee clutches with my mom and Helen Johnson. GREAT memories

Doris was a part of my extended family for over 30 years, as I am married to her nephew Fred (or "Rick" as he is known to his inner circle). I remember she always had a smile on her face and food in the house. The clan of Nicklason girls and boys was pretty tight, and I will always remember the visits to family, each of which made the bond even more secure. Doris lived a life which inspired many and endured difficult times with the same stoic nature which is second nature to many Scandinavians. Her beautiful handmade quilts will be tenderly cared for and hopefully remain in our family for several generations. Her calm and hopeful attitude will be missed. Marian, thank you for carrying on her legacy, and best wishes and love to you and all
remaining family.

Doris was the most courageous and best great aunt I ever had. We will all miss her very much. Doris had the best sense of humor. I remeber the best of times with Dodo and I played cribbage with her.

Aunt Doris, I will miss your great cookies, your candy dish that was always full, your heart that was good as gold, and your sense of humor that made all of us laugh.
I hope there are Lindt Lindor Truffles in Heaven because I never got to fulfill your request for them a few weeks ago.
Dodo, some things that will always make me think of you are coffee, crossword puzzles, 500 games, cribbage, caramel corn (you made the best), the phrase "or whatever", and even flying in an airplane .... since your home was so many times our park-n-fly.
Thank you for being the best aunt a person could ever have. I love you and will miss you much.

In an era when all the WWII vets are passing away, let's not forget the contributions of women like Doris, who worked in the shipyards as an electrician in Portland during the war. When asked by my sister if she was "Rosie the Riveter," she said that no, she was "Doris the Electrician."
Doris, you were like a second mother to me, and I will miss your "can-do" attitude, your great sense of humor, your always remaining calm in the storm, your Sallie Mae cookies, and, like the real Minnesotan that you are, your addition of "or whatever" to the end of your sentences. I will always picture you and my mom playing yet another game of cribbage at your kitchen table, drinking coffee and eating cookies.
My mom, my brother and all the "Potthoff Girls", along with our extended family of husbands, wives, and kids deeply mourn your leaving us way to soon -I had hoped you'd live to 100.

I was so sorry to read of Doris' death. I worked with her for over ten years at Country Club. She made us all better people. I learned many life lessons from her and appreciate them all. I have thought of her often over the years, and it always makes me smile. I'm thinking about all of you and you are in my thoughts and prayers.

We will all miss her a lot. Dodo had such a great sense of humor and really livened up conversations. I know my mother will really miss her a lot too. No more 500 with "the girls."

God gave Dodo many joys over the years and she was quick to share her joys with family and friends. It is nice that Rachael is part of this family. God now provides an entirely new set of heavenly joys for Dodo as she sings praises to Jesus who sits on the throne. Don & Bunny Klein
