Doris L. Hill

1930 - 2025

Doris L. Hill (Schwab) died peacefully in her home on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025. She was born Sept. 1, 1930, in Pittsburgh, to parents Elmer R. Schwab and Viola T. Succop. She attended Westinghouse High School. She met the love of her life, Norman H. Hill Sr., while still a teenager, and the two married in 1948. They had three children: Norman H. Hill Jr., Susan N. Hill (Bobel), and Robert C. Hill. She was an Eastern Star past matron and member for over 75 years. She was also a member of Daughters of Scotia. She volunteered for UPMC Seneca Place for over 20 years, and she loved to swim and was a member of Rosedale Beach Club for over 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman H. Hill Sr.; son, Robert (Bob) Hill; and grandson, Norman H. (Butch) Hill III. She is survived by her brother, Robert C. Schwab (Mildred); son, Norman H. Hill Jr. (Alice); daughter, Susan Bobel (Patrick); grandson, Brian Hill (Michele); granddaughters, Allison Cantu (Mario) and Colleen Capp; and great-grandchildren, Anthony Hill, Benjamin Hill, and John P. Capp. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She loved animals and her dog, Sadie. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 19, 2025, at SOXMAN FUNERAL HOMES LTD., 7450 Saltsburg Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15235, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025. Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
