Doris Hunter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Pace Funeral Home on Jan. 2, 2026.
Doris Ann Ringle Hunter, age 89, of Livingston, Texas, passed away peacefully on
December 31, 2025, surrounded by loving family.
Born on March 16, 1936, in Delhi, Louisiana, to Henry Harris Ringle and Minnie Drucilla
Pitmon Ringle, Doris grew up on a farm where she learned the values of hard work and
family from an early age. Her childhood responsibilities included picking cotton and
vegetables alongside her siblings, Carl Ringle and Colin Ringle.
In high school, Doris excelled as a first-string forward on the basketball team and was
crowned FFA Queen, showcasing her spirit and leadership.
On December 27, 1953, she married the love of her life, R.A. Hunter, and together they
built a devoted partnership that lasted a lifetime. Doris was a faithful and devoted
Christian, deeply involved in her church, where she taught Sunday school for many
years and led her local Women's Missionary Alliance (WMA) group until health issues
limited her participation.
A talented homemaker and exceptional cook, Doris poured her heart into caring for her
family. She was a loving daughter who tended to her parents until their passing, a
devoted wife, and a nurturing mother. Doris and R.A. moved frequently for his work,
living in Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, Canada, and England, and they cherished
traveling together.
She is survived by her husband, R.A. Hunter; brother, Colin Ringle; her three children:
Michael Hunter (wife Sheri), Sandra Saucier (husband Bruce), and Cindy Frederick
(husband Larry); seven grandchildren: Leslie Hunter, Emily Buenemann (husband
Jared), Heidi Hunter, Ashley Gibson (husband David), Brittany Saucier, Karleigh
Suderman (husband Nate), and Ridge Frederick (wife Emily); thirteen great-
grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends
who will miss her dearly.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Carl.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on January 16, 2026, at Pace Funeral Home
in Livingston, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, please send plants or make donations to the Women's Missionary
Alliance (WMA) at First Baptist Church of Livingston, TX.
Doris' life was a powerful testament to her unwavering faith in Christ, her love for her
family, and her commitment to serving others. She will always be remembered as a
woman of prayer, for her delicious meals prepared with love, her encouraging spirit
grounded in God's Word, and her servant's heart that reflected Jesus to everyone
around her. Now, by God's grace, she is at home with her Savior, rejoicing in His presence.
