Doris Jenkins Obituary
Doris was raised on her family's dairy farm outside Hanford and attended Sequoia Junior College and Fresno State College, graduating with a teaching degree. She then went on to teach elementary school for over 35 years in the Hanford and later Fresno school districts until her retirement. Doris married Joseph Daniel Jenkins Jr in 1953, and they remained married until Dan's death in 2020.
Doris will be remembered for her green thumb and love of gardening and traveling. Her succulent garden was beautiful to behold and lovingly curated by her.
In addition to her husband Dan, Doris was predeceased by her son John Miner Jenkins.
She is survived by her loving sister Rosemary Clark, daughter Jennifer Eveleth (David), grandchildren Rose, Alexander (Jen), and Decker Eveleth, grandson Dr. Phillip Daniel Jenkins, and several nieces.
Her family would like to express their deep gratitude to the caregivers that provided the loving care needed for her to remain in her home of fifty years in Prather until she peacefully passed, as were her wishes.
A celebration of life will be held in her honor, the date to be determined.
