Bridgeport ~ Doris L. Denton Lancaster, 92, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, October 14, 2025 in Decatur.
Graveside Service is 11:00 a.m. Monday at East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Doris was born on May 31, 1933, to Olin and Ruby Lee (Prater) Denton in Hillsboro, Texas. On January 14, 1983, she was united in marriage to Ernest “Burt” Lancaster in Ardmore, Oklahoma. For 25 years, Doris dedicated herself to her work as an operator and service dispatcher for Southwestern Bell and AT&T, showcasing her commitment and strong work ethic. Later, from 1989 to 2021, she brought her warmth and organizational skills to her role as a secretary at Graystone Inn in Bridgeport.
Doris was so much more than her accomplishments; she was a treasured mother, stepmother, and grandmother to four generations, leaving a profound impact on the lives she touched. She was a loyal friend to many, and her absence will be keenly felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest “Burt” Lancaster; and her brothers and sisters.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Alvin Qualls, Jr. and his wife Bobbi of Bridgeport, and Daniel Selman and his wife Diana of Fort Worth; her step-children, Danny Lancaster and his wife Jenny of Canyon, Texas, Michael Lancaster and his wife Cindy of Kingsland, Texas, Mark Lancaster of Odem, Texas, and Tracy Lawson and her husband David of Hobbs, New Mexico; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; other family members and a host of friends.
