Doris Saylors Lark, age 93, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Morningside of Anderson.
Born September 3, 1932, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Humphrey I. Saylors, Sr. and Lillian Lollis Saylors. She was married for 69 years to William Larry Lark until his death in 2019. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Joey Lark.
Doris was a woman of strong Christian faith. She was a longtime dedicated member of New Prospect Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the New Prospect Clown Ministry. She was proud to say that all three of her boys and their spouses are all active in churches. Doris wasn’t afraid of much, but she was very afraid of cats. She loved family get-togethers and made the best fried chicken in the South. She volunteered and later worked at Morningside of Anderson. Her greatest joy was being a homemaker for Larry and her three sons.
She is survived by her children, Jerry Lark (Susan), Robert Lark (Teresa), and Tony Lark (Denise);
5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 1:00-2:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Drew Gunter officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Prospect Baptist Church, 2503 Whitehall Rd., Anderson, S C29625.
