Doris Lewis Obituary
Doris Ann Watson Lewis, 90, passed away Monday, November 10, 2025 at Mission Hospital in Asheville.
She was born in Avery County on June 7, 1935 to the late Parker Watson and Myrtle Burleson Watson.
Doris worked at Cross Cotton Mill for fifteen years before becoming a devoted homemaker. She was an avid bowler when her health allowed and was formerly a member of a bowling league. Doris was of the Free Will Baptist faith and will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Lewis, and three children, Gloria Jean Wyatt, Kenneth David Wyatt, and Janet Lee.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Grindstaff (Dan) and Angela Lewis (Micky); twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one on the way; three great-great-grandchildren; and three siblings Sheila Buchanan, Sherrill Thomas, and Jean Fisher.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A graveside service will follow at Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery.
