Doris Ratley Luther

Doris Ratley Luther, 89, of Hope Mills, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 11, 2023.
She was born on May 22, 1933 to the late A. Vance and Sarah Kathryn Ratley. She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, William "Bill" Luther Jr.; grandson, Tyler Revell; brother, Floyd Ratley; and sister, Irene Russell.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Revell; son, William "Billy" Luther III (Michelle); granddaughter, Caitlin Revell (Chris), grandson, William "Will" Luther IV; great-grandchildren, Camryn, Cooper, and Mackenzie; sister, Sherry Rogers (Glenn); and a step-grandchild, Tommy Martin.
Doris was a devout Christian, an avid church member at Congregational Christian Church, and a dedicated servant and officiant for the town of Hope Mills. She made a career as a bank teller for First Citizens and Southern National Bank, and along with her husband was the owner of Dollar Video in Hope Mills. Mrs. Luther served two terms as commissioner of Hope Mills, secretary/treasurer and founding member of the Friends of the Library, member of the Appearance Committee, and Bicentennial Chairperson. She loved her family, friends, church, birds, flowers, cooking, making ceramics, telling jokes, and pulling pranks. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
