Doris Galzarano Meany

Doris 'Fudgie' Galzarano Meany, age 90 of Center Township was called Home on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
Born in Aliquippa, Doris was a beloved daughter of the late Angelo and Esther (Pratt) Galzarano and grew up in a close-knit family alongside her sister Gloria and three brothers Dominic, Angelo, and John Galzarano. All of her brothers have predeceased her.
She was a proud graduate of Aliquippa High School and later, demonstrating her commitment to lifelong learning, completed her studies at the Community College of Beaver County at the age of 40.
Her heart found its match in John 'Jack' Meany, whom she married on January 23, 1965, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monaca. She leaves two daughters: Lisa (Doug) Bruce of Darlington Township and Dr. Susan Meany of Loveland, Colorado. Doris's legacy continued with her grandsons, Doug J. and Nicholas Bruce. Her beloved sister, Gloria McKinney also survives her.
Doris's professional journey included several years as a dedicated secretary, with her last employment at FATA Hunter, Inc. She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Center Township.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb 11th from 3 pm until 8 pm at SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca where prayers will be offered on Wednesday at 9:30 am followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 at St John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca. Entombment will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum.
