Doris R. Meiggs, 94, of Bristol passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 with her family at her side. She was the wife of the late Gordon W. Meiggs for 56 years before his passing in 2007.
Born in Warren, RI, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Cecelia (Bartley) Gervais.
Doris worked as a School Audio- Visual Aide for Bristol High School for many years. She loved to spend time with her family, especially playing cards. She enjoyed bowling, her roses, and the hummingbirds. She always had a smile on her face and loved telling stories.
She is survived by her children:Maureen Baccaro (Patrick), Patricia Bragantin (Joseph), Kathy Donato (Paul), Gordon Meiggs, Jr.; her grandchildren: Lisa Cayton Molis, Michael Cayton (Tiffaney), Lindsey Bragantin, Kelly Bragantin, Katie Donato, Emilie Donato; her great grandchildren: Brittney Eccleston (Cameron), Olivia Molis, Cameron Cayton, Sean Cayton; her siblings: John Gervais, Shirley Rebello, Eleanor Guerreiro; her sisters-in-law: Martha Costa and Theresa Lake; and many nieces and nephews.
Doris was pre-deceased by her husband Gordon, her parents Henry and Cecelia; and her siblings: Charles Gervais, Henry Gervais, Raymond Gervais, James Gervais, Robert Gervais, Celia Bullock, Rose Swanson, Lillian Russo, and Ruthy Figureid.
Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 4:00 7:00 PM at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol. Her funeral will begin from Sansone Funeral Home at 9:30 AM on Friday, January 5, 2024 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. She will be laid to rest at St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol.
