Doris C. Morgan

Doris May Chatlain Morgan a daughter, cowgirl, sister, wife, mother, aunt and teacher. Doris May (Chatlain) Morgan 94 of Springdale died, February 24, 2008 in Springdale. She was born on the family ranch in Valier, Montana, April 24, 1913, to Arthur F. and Bessie King Chatlain. Her parents, her brothers Paul and Phil Chatlain, and her husband Edward D. Morgan whom she married in October of 1942, preceded her in death. Survivors include their children; son, Dr Edward C. Morgan and wife Linda of Temple, Texas, daughter, Cheryl Miller and husband Steve of Springdale and daughter, Renee Flynn and husband Bill of Little Rock, a sister June Chatlain Sands of Billings, Montana, Seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren , and many nieces and nephews in Montana and Arkansas. Doris was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Pine Bluff and served on the vestry and altar guild. Doris graduated from Valier High School in 1931 and received her Bachelor's degree from Wooster College in Wooster, Ohio in 1935, and did graduate work at the University of Oregon. She taught English, Journalism, Algebra and French for over 30 years starting at schools in Montana and later at Pine Bluff High School from 1951 until retirement in 1973. Doris was an avid reader, enjoyed playing bridge, earning her "life Masters" in duplicate bridge, and loved to travel. A memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.
