Mrs. Doris Marie Morton

Mrs. Doris Marie Morton, a lifelong Lake City resident, passed away Monday, February 23, 2026, at the age of 91. She was born in Lake City and was a graduate of Columbia High School in 1952. Mrs. Morton spent part of her career as a medical secretary at Division Hospital of Lake City before it closed and then at the Department of Children and Families. She was devoted to her family and her dog, Buddy. She is survived by her son: Kevin (Suzanne) Morton of Lake City; son-in-law: Mark Rhoden of Lake City; grandchildren: Scott (Lindsey) Morton, Lindsey (George) Pridgeon, Mandy (Brad Federico) Rhoden, and Corey Rhoden; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather: Agnes and Milton Wheeler, her husband: Kenneth A. Morton; and daughter: Debi Rhoden. A graveside service will be held 10:30am, Friday, February 27, 2026, at Corinth Methodist Cemetery, 509 NW Corinth Drive, Lake City, Florida 32055 with Chaplain Brian Shearer officiating. Guerry Forbes Funeral Home of Lake City is honored to serve the Morton family.
