Doris Faye Byrd O'Meara was born on May 18, 1938 in Stamford, TX or as she liked to tell it, "right on the railroad tracks" leading into town from the family's homestead in Tuxedo. She attended Anson HS and graduated in 1956.
Doris married Jerry O'Meara in 1971 and had their son, Anthony O'Meara in 1972. She worked at the Abilene State School for many years before retiring and becoming an infamous Wal-Mart greeter until her full retirement. She had a love of animals and travel and loved seeing and experiencing new places.
She is pre-deceased by her parents Newell and Thelma Byrd, niece, Lisa Cochran and husband, Jerry O'Meara. She leaves behind her son and daughter-in law, Anthony and Kara O'Meara, grandsons, Teryl and Ayden O'Meara and great-granddaughter, Mila, of Abilene and bonus sons, Tim, Bill, Andy, and JP O'Meara, their spouses and children, all of Idaho. She also leaves behind her brother and sister-in-law, Lester and Maxine Byrd, nephews, Steve Byrd and Joe Garcia, and grandchildren.
