Obituary published on Legacy.com by Skinner Funeral Home - Eaton Rapids on Mar. 14, 2024.
Peggy Colleen Jones, a resident of Charlotte, MI, passed away on March 13, 2024, following a brief illness. Born on February 17, 1951, in Lansing, MI, she was the daughter of Norman and Phyllis (Berkle) Blake. Peggy spent her formative years in Lansing, graduating from Waverly High School in the class of 1969. She pursued further education at LCC and embarked on a diverse professional journey, contributing her bookkeeping and financial skills to various endeavors including Reid and Reid Attorneys in Lansing, Mike Davis Construction in Grand Ledge, and ultimately concluding her career as a financial director at the Capitol Area Center for Independent Living in 2010, where she dedicated 17 years of service.
Settling in Grand Ledge, Peggy participated in the Jaycees and found joy in pursuits such as ceramics making and painting, cake decorating, and meticulously maintaining a welcoming home. Known for hosting holiday gatherings and adorning her space with seasonal decorations, Peggy found fulfillment in creating warm memories with her loved ones most of all and enjoyed the company of her puppy, Sadie. She was a devoted daughter, caring for her parents, especially as they aged.
Peggy was the cherished wife of Clifford Jones for 54 years, a loving mother to Scott (Terri) Jones and Kim (Kevin) Hoppe, and a doting grandmother to Blake and Ben Hoppe, Mackenzie, Madeline, and Chandler Jones. She leaves behind her brothers James (Louis), Norman/Pat (Ann), and Jack (Kay) Blake, as well as special friends Betty Hunt, Bridget Cochran, and Donna Martin along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 18, 2024, at Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends starting at 9:00 AM.
