God blessed me with Doris who shared her life with me for 49 years. Doris was a very loving, compassionate life partner and a wonderful caring mother. She will be dearly loved and missed forever. Thank you Lord for Doris wanting to share her life with me.
Doris Ann Penn beloved wife and caring mother passed away on October 7 at the age of 77 at Allen Hospital. Doris dedicated her life to her family. She was a pillar of love, support, and wisdom, always there to offer a listening ear and words of encouragement. She leaves behind a legacy of love and nurturing that will forever be etched in our hearts.
Born on February 12, 1946, in Cedar Rapids (daughter of Rudolph and Julianna Kolar), Doris was a beacon of unwavering love and support for her family. She was a very loving and devoted wife to her husband, Ronald Penn, sharing 49 wonderful years of marriage and was also a source of strength and guidance for her children.
She was very loving, compassionate and caring. She cherished every moment with her family, meticulously planning holidays and gatherings, cooking with the best ingredients straight from her garden and personal canned food collection. Doris also enjoyed camping and fishing trips preparing special dishes and treats and was known for kindling the best fire in the campground. She also loved attending auctions and going to flea markets with her husband Ronald. Together they logged many miles as they searched high and low for the perfect bargain accumulating treasures of all kinds and amassing several antique collections.
Doris had a profound connection with cats. Her big heart extended to rescuing and caring for them, providing a loving home to those in need. One of her highlights was being a cat mom to Miami, Macie, Miley and Lucky. Her compassion knew no bounds, and her actions touched the lives of countless felines. If a cat wandered upon her path they were rescued; fed, provided shelter and love.
