Doris Elaine Pidima, 95, of Guernsey, IA passed away August 1, 2025 at UnityPoint Grinnell Regional Medical Center.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday, August 4, 2025 at Smith Funeral Home in Victor, IA.
,A funeral will be held at 10:30, Tuesday, August 5, 2025, am at Guernsey Church in Guernsey, IA. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 at Guernsey cemetery, followed by a luncheon back at Guernsey Church. at Guernsey Church in Guernsey, IA.
Memorials may be made payable to Guernsey Church mailed in c/o Smith Funeral Home, 808 4th St., Victor, IA 52347.
Doris was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 1929 to Elwood West and Zelma (Grier) Provin on the family farm northwest of Guernsey, IA. She attended elementary and high school at Guernsey Consolidated School, graduating with the class of 1947 as salutatorian.
In August 15, 1954, Doris married Lawrence L. Pidima at University Park, Iowa. Lawrence passed away May 18, 2012- at this time they had been married for 57 years. To this union two sons were born- David Lawrence and Daryl Laverne. They were her pride and joy through happy times and sad times. As were the grandchildren, Chelsey and Cale.
Doris was a lifelong member of the Guernsey United Methodist Church. She lived her entire married life on the same farm northwest of Guernsey, IA. She enjoyed gardening, both vegetable and flowers, helping around the farm when needed, any outside activity and any kind of handiwork.
Those left to mourn Doris's passing are; her sons, David (Jeannie) Pidima of Brooklyn, IA and Daryl Pidima of Guernsey, IA; her grandchildren, Chelsey (Justin) Evans of Victor, IA and Cale (Brooklyn) Pidima of Victor, IA; her great-grandchildren, Carley Evans, and Evelyn Pidima; and relatives and friends.
She is preceded by her parents, Elwood, and Zelma, and her husband, Lawrence.
