In Loving Memory of Doris M. Balt Poling

1943 – 2026

Doris M. Balt Poling, 82, of Manchester passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Riverview Hospital in Red Bank.

Born and raised in Jersey City, Doris spent many years traveling and living between New Jersey, New York, and Florida, making countless memories with her husband, family, friends, and grandchildren.

Doris dedicated 20 years to working at Moran Towing and Poling Transportation Corp., where she met her soulmate, Edwin Poling. Together they enjoyed life to the fullest, spending many happy days on their boat and celebrating special moments with friends and family. After retirement, she shared her caring nature as a Teacher's Aide in the Toms River schools, brightening the days of countless children.

Doris had a joyful and vibrant spirit. She loved the sunshine and the water and especially cherished the times spent boating with her husband. She loved Bingo and could often be found with a gripping book in hand. Her warmth, curiosity, and love for life left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin Poling Sr., in 2019, and her son, William R. Balt Jr. Doris's love lives on through her devoted step-son and his wife, Edwin P. Poling Jr. and Patricia; her brother, Joseph Antonucci, and sister-in-law, Kathleen; grandchildren Kristin and Kimberly; great-grandchildren Madeleine, Celine, Colette, and Cora; and her beloved nieces and nephews Debbie, William, Joseph, Michelle, Lisa, Michael, and Patience.

A private cremation was held, with inurnment to follow on Wednesday, April 22, at 11 a.m. at Green Grove Cemetery, Keyport.
