Doris P. Riley, age 80, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026 at the Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Southaven, MS.

Doris was born in Coffeeville, Mississippi, on April 18, 1945 to the late Dewitt Pugh and Mildred West Rinehart. She her life to nurturing her family and contributing to her community.
Throughout her years, Doris was primarily a devoted homemaker, pouring her heart into creating a warm and loving environment for her family. Before embracing her role at home, she worked tirelessly in various factories and also served as a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant at a nursing home in Batesville, showcasing her commitment to caring for others.
An avid decorator and lover of crafting, Doris enjoyed expressing her creativity and often brought joy to her family through her artistic endeavors.
Doris's love for her family was unwavering. She is survived by her daughter, Bridget Shelton Woodard (Scotty) of Batesville, MS; her siblings, Frank West (Lenora) and Diane Brotherton both of Batesville, MS; her grandchildren, Elizabeth LeMaire of Southaven, MS, and Lashanda Sawyer (Anthony) of Batesville, MS; as well as her four great grandsons, Cameron, Cayden, Artist, and Amari. Each of these individuals carried a special place in her heart, and she deeply cherished the moments spent with them.

Along with her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Riley.
Although she is no longer with us, her spirit will continue to resonate through the lives she touched, the memories she created, and the legacy of love that she leaves behind.
