Doris A. Seiler

Doris A. Seiler, age 77, of Effingham, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.

Doris was born on January 19, 1948, in Effingham, Illinois, to Donald and Lucille Rentfrow. She grew up in Effingham and on September 7, 1974, she married Albert J. Seiler Jr. Together they shared 51 years of love and devotion. They had three daughters: Chauntel, Lindsey, and Ashlee.

Doris will be remembered for her unwavering strength, deep devotion to her family, and her many talents. She was an accomplished and gifted porcelain china painter, best known for her delicate, lifelike flowers and the beautiful home décor pieces she created with care and artistry. Doris also enjoyed a successful career in banking, serving as a banker and branch manager, where she was respected for her professionalism and kindness. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the sweet smell of pumpkin rolls at Thanksgiving, snickerdoodle cookies at Christmas, and her famous chicken and noodles that brought everyone together around the table. Above all, her greatest joy was her family-she loved nothing more than bragging about her daughters' accomplishments and her beautiful grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.

She is survived by her husband, Albert J. Seiler Jr.; daughters, Chauntel (Adam Ennassiri) Seiler of Arlington, VA, Lindsey (Kyle) Miller of Twin Falls, ID, and Ashlee (Jay) Keppler of Vandalia, IL; grandchildren, Luke and Sydney Miller, and Maci, Sylvia, and Nora Keppler; as well as five brothers and two sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 noon Monday, November 10, 2025 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Samaritan's Purse or simply take a moment to honor Doris by sharing a kind word with someone.

The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered love, prayers, and support during this time. Doris's love and legacy will live on in all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
