Doris Eleanor Childers Tessenair, 79, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. Born in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Glenn Childers and Virginia Whitfied James and the wife of the late Paul Tessenair. She was previously employed with Mayfair Mills in Startex and Inman Mills.
Survivors include two daughters, April Henderson and Ginger Shockley; a brother, Freddie Childers and wife, Elaine; four grandchildren, Freddie Henderson and wife, Brandy, Nicholas Parrish and husband, Michael, Samantha Haller and Alexis Dobins and husband, Robbie; and four great grandchildren, Caleb, Emilie, AJ and Gracie. She was predeceased by a son, Pete Henderson; a grandson, James Gibson; two brothers, Thomas and Gary Childers; five sisters, Sylvia Lynch, Vanessa Burgess, Teresa Gregory, Linda Prather and Darlene Brockman.
Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
