Doris Katherine Raisor Wilson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on September 16, 2024, at the age of 80 in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. Born on November 11, 1943, in Sanders, Carroll County, Kentucky, Doris was a graduate of Carrollton High School.
Throughout her life, Doris touched many through her professional endeavors. She worked as a receptionist at the Masonic Home in Franklin, Indiana, and Miracle-Ear in Greenwood, Indiana. Her warm personality and dedication made her a cherished member of the workplaces she belonged to.
Doris was of the Christian faith, which was evident in her caring nature. She took great joy in her hobbies; she enjoyed shopping for antiques and discovering treasures at goodwill stores. A fan of television, she often spent time watching "NCIS," and she took delight in singing and dancing. Doris had a particular fondness for spoiling her grandchildren, exemplifying her nurturing spirit.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Edward (Misty) Wilson and David Michael (Rebecca) Wilson, both of Franklin, Indiana. Doris was also a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren and a doting great-grandmother to four great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a brother, Walter Powell Raisor of Dayton, Ohio.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Frank Raisor, who passed away on June 14, 1984, and Ethel Mae Bell Raisor, who passed away on June 13, 1994. She also mourned the loss of her daughter, Dana Kathryn Wilson Malson, who passed away on May 16, 2022, and her sisters, Joan Raisor Riley and Mary Lindsay Lawrence, who left this world on October 16, 2005, and March 11, 2011, respectively.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, both at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, located at 809 Highland Ave, Carrollton, KY, 41008. Interment will take place in the Ghent Masonic Cemetery in Ghent, KY.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date in Franklin, IN.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation in care of the funeral home.
Arrangements have been entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
